My priority date becomes current on June 1st. I need to add my wife (dependent) to my green card process. Please let me know how long it takes for her to get her green card. We stay in Houston, Texas. My I-485 is with Texas processing Center.

I am on H1 for the last 3 years. Got my H1 renewed for 3 years last month. Now i have to go back to India for one year (2009) and come back at 2010. I will not be in a payroll for 2009. When i come back to US at 2010, i am planning to start my Green Card processing. I want to know if my one year stay in India will affect my Green Card processing in any way?

Nothing is "forever." If you hire a good attorney, he/she can argue, that you did have immigrant intent in the past, but have abandoned it and will try to get you a visa. However, without a good lawyer, it may be very difficult to persuade a consular officer that you no longer wish to immigrate to the U.S. after entering here. It's possible, but you need to marry first, then file I-130. After I-130 is approved, you can ask USCIS to use your I-130 as underlying visa petition for I-485. Keep in mind that I-130 AOS gives you only conditional permanent residency, after 21 months you need to apply for a regular GC.

2) When you applied for visa extension , what is going to be the validity of that visa ?

Well, doing it on my own isn't a problem. It's just that my employer is a behemoth and has ironclad policies.
Having said that, filing fees for EAD extension are $340 and for AP $305 per applicant, right?
Now I'll try my best to get EAD/AP extended either by me or the employer but if that doesn't happen (say my employer says it's our policy for you not to do it on your own), will a gap in EAD/AP create problems?

The gap by itself is not a problem. However, an abrupt termination or something similar can create trouble as applying for an EAD at that time and waiting for an approval will take months and cause a lot of stress. It can be painful enough to regret every morning the decision to not extend the EAD just to save $600.
If you do not have a copy of your 485 notice, then you cannot extend your EAD. But if you have it (you should), then it is your property and your employer has no say in this matter. Remember that the H-1b and 140 belong to the employer, but 485/EAD/AP are your own.

Thanks!.. My job title in labor is "Computer and Information Systems Managers" & SOC code is "11-3021.00". The offer I have is for technical lead with around 40% hike. Will technical lead be considered as "Computer and Information Systems Managers"?. Future employer is a big co & I don't think they will be ready to adjust the job profile. Can I hear from anyone who had their labor filed for solution architect or technical lead role(soc code & job description)?
If you want to know the exact job description then labor is the only document which has the complete description. Usually the company will ask to fill some documentation for filing labor and labor is filed based on the available job and your skill set as well (that's what I have seen).
You might get some idea of job description from the documentation you filled for labor but again will not be exact...

Hello,
I have following situation and need some help on making my travel decision:
1. Me and my wife booked ticket to travel to India on October 27th and coming back on November 29th. Our advance parole will expire in NOV 18th. We have H1B approval till 2010 from a company A. I am working on H1B and my wife working on EAD.
2. Me and my wife filed EAD/AP July 29th 2008. My AP got approved on Aug 31. But my wifes AP/EAD is not yet approved.
3. Two months back my H1B sponsoring company( company A) was acquired by company B. Company B is a Canadian company. Company B has taken all obligations and liabilities of LCA's of company A.
4. Since the aquiring comany is candian company my offer letter and the employment verifaication letters are with address and telephone numbers of canada/ottawa.
5. My pay stubs are still issued with name of Campany A.
6. Since My wifes AP is not approved we are planning stamp out H1B/h4 visa at us consulate in chennai. I am wondering with above situation is there any risk in visa approval at chennai consulate ?
7. Is there any way from now and OCtober 27 I can expidate the AP approval for my wifes application?
8. How long it takes these days for H1B visa approvals at chennai with the new PIMS process ? Will I get visa approved on Nov 10th if my interview is on NOV 3rd?

You did not tell that even when she got her H1, does she still have valid H4?
I dont think she got her h1 stamped on her visa. So technically it is not a problem if she has not been working and has no pay stubs.
She could go for stamping h4 if you people want, and YES that seems to be the best thing cause you want to keep you h1 valid.
Remember, Either you are her use the EAD, your h1 status might not hold good anymore. Likewise with the AP I suppose. Getting the point?

It was easy last year to not pass the bill. We had a Republican President & Congress and Democrats kept on blaming republicans for not doing anything. I think this time the ball will be in the Democrat's court to pass the CIR and send to the President for signature. They won't be able to blame it on republicans.

Here's my story, I'll try to make it short. Aug. '04 LC applicant. Filed for I-140 & I-485 (conc.) in Feb. '07. FP done in April. Received an e-mail from USCIS on 8.17.07 stating that an RFE letter has been issued for me on 8.16.07. Last friday (8.24.07) called my attorney, she said they haven't received it. She said they (their law firm) have changed their office location and informed USCIS in general, but not for each specific application they have filed, so it might take 3 weeks before we receive the FRE letter and usually there's a 30 day deadline for applicant to respond. Well, I got scared a little. I called USCIS customer service. The operator said she doesn't have access to specifics of case, e.g. nature of RFE letter, timeline for response (30, 42, 84 days) & etc. She also said there's zero chance for an extension to be granted to the applicant, if he can't provide the requested document within the timeline allowed by USCIS.
I called my attorney again. She said she had mailed all documents along with the application, except for previous work experience (which will be from my home country since I've worked for only 1 employer since I came to the U.S. in 2004)
Now my question is:
1- What if I don't receive the RFE letter in time?
2- Any loops to gain an extension if I can't make it before 30 days?
3- Any ways to find out about the nature of FRE letter?
4- Does this mean that I'll easily lose everything including 4 years of waiting if I just don't receive the RFE letter in time and can't provide them with what they're asking for? (Someone please answer NO to this question! :( )
5- Any advices, suggestions, similar experiences, ideas or solutions?
I appreciate any kind of feedback on this, since I'm almost shaking in here!

I agree with raj. IV goals are clearly mentioned on the homepage and it appears its activities so far are consistent with its stated objectives. As a self funded group with limited resources, the fronts on which the battle can be fought have to be selected. Currently, the struggle is to get legal, high skilled immigrants on temporary working visas a more defined and timely path to their long term career and life goals. There will always be issues which the core group will hopefully consider and act on in the future.
