What if the case is where I want to take up a new full time position and convert my current full time position to part time.....I guess one way to do it would be to transfer H1 to the new employer...wait for an approval and then file for another concurrent H1 for the part time job with the old company..But the problem is I'd have to wait until new approval comes...and also convince both companies to shell out 2k plus in filing fees....does any one have a better alternative ? I believe that to convert a full time position to part time, all you have to do is re-file your LCA.

I happen to hear that its more easy to convert from L1 visa to Green card .Is it something that the employer has to initiate ? Can we start the process by ourselves.

Our visa stamp (H1B/H4) are expired in our passports. We are planning to travel via 'Frankfurt (FRA), Germany' to Mumbai in Lufthansa airlines and we will get our passport stamped in Mumbai. Does anyone have experience travelling via 'Frankfurt (FRA), Germany' without visa stamp in passport?
I know that travlling via London has some difficulties but not sure about 'Frankfurt'.
Please let me know.
FYI..We have our EAD and I-485 is pending with approved I-140.

You should not have any issues travelling via Frankfurt to India with an expired visa stamp. I've travelled as recently as last month with an expired visa stamp.Returning to the US with a visa stamp or using advanced parole should be fine.

I too received a similar notice. My employer replied by submitting proof of the paid checks. Meanwhile, I received my receipt notice that shows $395 received. I have also received the FP notice and the same was completed yesterday. Customer service was not of much help.

I have completed my finger printing a week back. My 485 receipt says the amount as $395. So the $70 is already included in the $395?
I think I will also get my lawyers to reply to USCIS with the proof of encashed cheque.

My PD (EB3)is Dec-02. I have gone for Finger Printing twice now.
I see lot of reference to '45 Day letter' in the forum . I have no recollection of receiving the '45 Day ' letter so far.
Am I missing something here?
Can any one of you please explain what this letter is about?

When the state workforce agencies (DOL's) transfered their applications to the Backlog Reduction Centers (BEC), the BEC sent a 45 days letter to the petitioner and the attorney to confirm if they are still interested in proceeding with the pending labor (some were pending for 4-5 years and they do not want to work on it unless the petitioner is still interested). The BEC gives them 45 days to respond, hence the name.

I guess I wasn't shocked when I saw this story, but I have to say it depressed me. The AP reports that Derby Line, Vermont and Stanstead, Quebec, really one town that happens to straddle a border, is now installing security gates to physically separate the community.

Nothing wrong with gates and fences. It's security measure, ... I am all for it and fine. Unlike Quebec, atleast in my America, outsiders are not frowned upon. Nor denied help just becaue you cannot speak their language (French). Take away from my last trip to Quebec (Quebec City) is, they don't like to see us in their part of world, nor do we welcome them.

Mark my words.... President Bush will single handedly make sure to pass the bill as it is.....
No one can stop it.
Do you all think it is just a co incidense that all the dates became current just when this bill (which was supposed to be in grave :rolleyes: ) is revived by those who extremely opposed it?
Do you know how many people will stop giving a damn, because they just filed their 485 s?
People like me who are result of bad practice employers are still here, and lucky ones will depart.....
We have been dealt a crucial blow here.
No one can stop it.

In case my H1B is revoked, do I still have the option of filing from a different company as I still have more than year left on my original visa? or can I still do a transfer?
