Hi
I was not so so keen until this matter was resolved..BUT my GC got approved.
I am separated from spouse. But when I filed 485, I was "married" because our relationship was still unstable.
Now QUITE FRANKLY I am NOT sure what's going to happen ahead.Dont ask me why. This whole uncertainty depressed me . If I re-unite and my wife is in India and I am on GC HOW do I call her here ?
If I divorce and re-marry how do I get my new wife here.
In any case , I dont plan on getting more than 1 person so pl dont look at it from a gamers view.

It's not my intention to encourage marital discord. Having said that there are a couple options for you:
(a) If you re-unite and reconcile with your wife, you can file a follow-to-join petition, since you were married before you got your GC. She will get her GC fairly fast and be able to enter as an immigrant.
(b) If you get divorced and get re-married, you're out of luck. You would have to file a Family based I-140 petition (F2A, I think) and it takes about 5-6 years to get something like that approved. In the meantime if you want her to come to the USA, she will have to come on a dual-intent visa such as H1B. The consulate will not give her an ordinary visa. Of course, you can claim citizenship and "upgrade" your petition.

What happened to their own plaintiffs - even couple of days back they

No it is normal. I also got AP same day, mine was going to expire 28-Aug. Same validity - 20 -may.
But I dont care, because for me only expense is photographs and mail charges. I filed under new fee structure.

My I-140 was approved July 14th. Online status shows "pending". I was informed about the approval by my manager and lawyer!!

I went through the same and it was fairly easy and not stressing.. you have to have copies of your passport ( the persons applying for extension and copies of the return tickets of the flights back home, you need a form : I-539 and fill it up, print it and send it with all the documentation they require, it would be advisable to have a sponsor or a person who certifies that will be financially in care of her expenses. ( forgot the form number but i think is I-139 ..please check ) and once you got all those requirements send them with 300 $ that costs the application process and in less then 4 weeks you will get a letter with either the aproval or the denial of the stay. If your I-94 expires while you wait for the form do not worry cause you are not going into illegal state while the USICIS is processing your application. GOOD LUCK !! and enjoy your ceremony !!

I wanted to introduce myself as I am new to this forum and digital photography. I have always had a keen interest in photography but never got around to doing anything about it until now. I just ordered my first real camera, I bought a Nikon D70s with the 18-70 and 55-200 lenses, and it should be here by the end of the week. My job provides me the opportunity to see many different places around the world and I am hoping to get good enough to capture and share the sights and feelings of my travels. My wife and I also enjoy motorcycling and get to see a lot of the country that you miss if you take the interstate and hope to capture some of these sites as well. I will probably have a lot of dumb rookie questions and ask for your patience as I learn this new hobby. In return if you have any questions concerning motorcycles (especially BMW�s) or guitars I might be able to help there.

I think this become a problem for USCIS. might be they have some political pressure "not to allot Visa" and I dont think they will reversed. That I say American dadagiri. Rules for others only not for them

I am planning to visit India during May 2011. I am working in multinational company as civil engineer (on H1-B). I have PhD from US uni. I am reading a lot about visa stamping probs these days. :confused: But the dates having moved beyond the April 2000 deadline ( may be temporarily), why should they not move fast when the VB was current for a long time and there should not be many cases after April 2000 those were not adjudicated. So I feel if the dates don't retrogress then they should move forward faster.

As far as i know you will be getting 1 receipt number for each application. so totally 6 numbers to keep track of for the years to come. By the when did u file? Was it for June filing? of July filing?

They will be able to provide you an emergency AP. This has happened in the past. If you can prove the emergency, you can get AP in a few hours.

I believe she can continue to work if she files H1 extension and has a receipt notice. But if you are pursueing the EAD angle you will need an EAD card in hand physically to go that route. In a way its good that your employer is supporting the EAD efforts but that also takes longer because of documents and information exchanges with the attorney etc. Hope this helps
